| There are two methods to removing bees from buildings. The first method is trapping the bees. This method is time consuming and will take months for the job to be completed. A person must first determine the number of entrances that the bees have to the building and seal up all but one. At that time a person would design a screen to put over the entrance that will allow the bees to escape but not reenter. Then he would put a cage or a box at that screen to catch the bees. This method only takes care of the bees; it leaves the wax and honey in the building. After the bees are removed the person needs to find all cracks and crevices that lead to that hive and seal them. Whereas if there is any crack or crevice left unsealed there will be an attraction to other bees and insects such as ants ,wax moth, small hive beetles and rodents. The second method is done in about 2 hours at dusk. This is to ensure that all bees are in and removed. This method involves the locating of the hive from inside the building in the wall or ceiling. At that time the person opens the hive and removes it entirely, saving the bees, wax and honey. This is the only way Greg Miles recommends; to ensure that there is no attraction to the other pests. There is only one way to remove bees from a hollow of a tree. The tree first must be cut down; at that time one can split the log to save the bees, wax and honey
